ATHAZAGORAPHOBIA
I laugh from my heart when I remember
how worthless life can be
how our memories are washed off
like sands by the beach
someday, we will all become memories
as time passeth, we will fade
a generation will come and stare at a strange photo on the wall
a generation will come and yank it off the wall
illusion of self importance
praises showered during our prime
we feel we would live forever
no one gets out of life alive
some amass so much wealth
hoping to clutch to it till eternity
others propitiate for long life
hoping and craving to be immortal
time is a great healer but a lousy beautician
it heals no wound but only caresses the surface
gives humanity hope for restitution
a fallacy clutched on to by fools
illusion of self importance
a marionette in the hands of a puppeteer
a distinct creature majorly for procreation
that is what we are… nothing more
