ibadan once feels like home 

here I am again, feeling like gnome 

the initial excitement is dead 

my memories just can’t bear 

friends and foes alike

I guess I saw it all before the beginning

criminals are celebrated on the media 

no room for such madness in China 

hunger and tribalism has been their weapon of warfare 

loots and palliatives are shared like they care 

you dare not protest for you’re a treasonist 

they burn down your human right but they aren’t arsonist 

a fire-brand agbada usurp the throne in greed 

a waste of fetus now commandeer indeed 

he loves the nation so much in penury and abject poverty 

by the time he’s done, we will all languish in purgatory 

so much promise with so much at stake 

we will soon be brushing our hairs with rake

nothing brings joy, it’s different sadness per day 

a animal farm called Nigeria 

a midget called giant of Africa 

our pillows soaked in tears every night
