POISED

 

a whole world of numbness in front of me 

a whole world of pain I left behind 

yet still this cup will never pass 

my memories plays back the same old tune 

dark as my past could be 

I held on to a little light 

it illuminated even my darkest path 

but little by little, they extinguished it for me 

for me, yeah, for me 

they took turns and extinguished without remorse 

not minding what will become of me 

a monster or a daughter 

in one fell swoop I declined 

falling from my prestigious height of grace 

I hit my back thunderously on the ground 

lost all that was left of me

now I am constantly reminded 

poised in the same position, stuck till eternity  

I am far beyond redemption 

the world is nothing but a leech
