UNMASK

 

the wolves walks in packs 

a fraternity in pride and prejudice 

feeling remotely superior above all

“every other things are prey” they scream 

and so without shame they clamp 

standing tall without shamelessness 

“they are bigger than the law now” masses chorus 

“throw us some crumbs” unfortunate people cries 

the leeches have two daughters, namely ‘give’ and ‘give’

the hyenas laugh still when nothing is funny 

the rattle snake plays his maracas for rhythms

then hums his intentions within  

in broad day light now they rob

flaunting their shameless, ego and pride 

leaders clothing themselves in aggressive corruptions

certified fools, forging their ways to the top 

they wish they can pay for breathe if nature calls 

every other persons are worthless and has a price 

“We’ve got enough dough, let’s buy tomorrow”

death laughs hard till his stomach hurts 

their rendezvous have been compromised 

but they’d rather stick together under oath 

secret promises, they all must walk together to the grave

anytime their time is up, and have been unmasked  

till today I wonder 

I guess a curse was added to the soil that moulded Africans 

for greed and selfishness has been the order of the day 

We so wear it with pride and stupidity
