SHADE OF GREY

 

another shade of grey 

a passing that we all may 

failed love been spread

a field trip we dare not thread

eyes sees it all but less

shoulders are weary, not built for stress

you are here but barely exist

how well can you keep up this feat 

a kind reminder for your requiem 

a sonorous dirge and psychedelic elegy

they will mourn and soon forget

the innocent grave holds no regret

why do we seek confession?

You say to purge us and lift us off recession

a terrible lie to make us docile

darkness and light will never reconcile

hatred in our hearts

crested insignia like the horn of a hart 

pride is pained, death is wowed 

we act smarter but cursed
