ON THE RUN

 

I am on the run, aren’t you?

trying to breakaway from struggles I know of 

enemies within and without 

I need to make a move before they dim my lights 

you are on the run, don’t you?

running and no one is chasing you

jumping hurdles just to reach the finishing line

sprinting fast just to gain an award of recognition 

he is on the run, isn’t it?

the world says to him “you are a man, you need to be made”

now he continues to run, running towards a desirable goal

no one knows, it may end up his life 

she is on the run, isn’t it?

praying to get become a woman of substance 

little do she know life has a design for us all

finally giving it all up to become a wife 

we all are on the run, aren’t we?

pushing hard to make a living 

fending just to be relevant in our society 

life leaves us no choice as human
