FALLEN MEMORIES

 

you live your life like a super hero

wanting your name to be remembered forever

a generation will come and won’t even wanna hear your tale 

you become a fallen memory

of all the brave warrior who fought in wars 

standing strong and lost their lives to those duels 

their photos hangs on the hall of fame 

they become fallen memories 

she hustles day and night just for her kids 

starved herself sometimes just to make them feed 

they grew up, became wealthy and ignored her

in no time, she fell off their memories 

despite how committed she was, he ditched her 

she gave her all in all, yet still, he left her 

broke her to pieces, shredded her emotions

bound in a safety suit, she lies still in a psychological ward with distorted memories of him 

my friend Sylvester Mayowa Boboe (sly) 

a demised hero to reckon with 

he lost his life trying to save a drowning soul in a beach 

2016 till date, a cherished fallen memory

no matter how good, nice, terrible or graceful you are

we will all someday become fallen memories
